Cycling & the Media in the Netherlands

Cycling & the Media in the Netherlands

The following video is absolutely remarkable and you should take five minutes to watch it.  It is remarkable because a reckless driving incident that injured and seriously endangered a group of cyclists created a serious public outcry and response.  It is remarkable because anyone thought to care about the cyclists…if you live in the U.S., or probably anywhere but the Netherlands and maybe Denmark, you know what I mean.  It is remarkable because anyone, media and public alike, cared for so long.  I guess it goes to show that cyclists matter in the Netherlands.  The media coverage sure proves that.  I have to say, that sure seems nice.

That is a relatively well-balanced piece of journalism.
