Hi Andy,

It's great to hear you are having success delivering local publications by bike. It sounds like improvising with the method of delivery is a good idea, depending on the conditions and items being delivered. Thanks for the comment!

Delivering local publications here in Santa Fe New Mexico with my converted Burley trailer works great. If you get a call for a small parcel delivery across town you can drop the trailer lock it up and fly across town, only to resume your route after you get back. Large weight delivery is key for success in small town delivery operations.
Love this new site

Hi Graham,

Thanks for the comment. Congrats on starting the first cargo bike service in Dublin! We would be interested to hear more about your business and experience. Would you be interested in writing a guest post about bike delivery?

Thanks, Melanie

Nice to read something about the past and future of bicycle delivery. Having been a bicycle courier in Dublin, Ireland for 12 years, I recently went out on my own with a colleague and started Dublin's first cargo bike service, Velocity Couriers. We are currently riding what are probably the most modern of the Long John varieties, the Bullitt's by Larry Vs. Harry in Copenhagen: www.larryvsharry.com . They are amazing bikes to ride and we hope that people in Dublin will soon begin to see the benefits of moving their large goods around the city by bike!
